The Japanese Kimono beginnings date back over a thousand year as Japanese article of clothing. The Japanese Kimono has a fixed sewing method and is usually made from a long, narrow material of cloth known as a tanmono.
Many types of Japanese kimono fabrics are used, such as silk, cotton and linen.Silk kimono and many formal kimonos, are still hand-sewn entirely, even machine-sewn kimono require some degree of hand-sewing, particularly in finishing the collar, etc.
The Japanese Kimono is traditionally worn with an obi, is commonly worn with zori sandals and tabi socks. There are different types of kimono for men, women and children, also varying based on the occasion (wedding, funerals and other formal events), the season (Summer or Winter), the wearer’s age (young or elder). For example, on hot summer nights in Japan, we wear a kimono called a Yukata.
As you may know that some of vintage kimono have been recycled in a variety of ways, depending on the type of kimono. High quality fabric can be reused for more than 50 years.

The size of the Kimono is not so subdivided, but it will vary slightly depending on your height, arm length and waist circumference.
